Prompt: In 2–3 well-developed sentences, reflect on how you spent your Holiday Break. Then, identify four personal goals you would like to achieve this year and briefly explain why each goal is important to you (Copy and paste your completed response from Writable into your blog).

Prompt Response: My Holiday Break was just alright. I spent my days catching up on sleep, spending time with family, and planning my re-brand for the new year. I didn't do much but my ideal day is relaxing at home, so I enjoyed myself.

The first goal that I want to achieve this year is reading 24 books. This goal is important because it expands my vocabulary and introduces me to new genres. To accomplish this goal, I will read 2 books a month. By December 2026, I will have read 24 books.

The second goal I want to achieve this year is sticking to a working routine. This goal is important to me because consistently working out is good for my body and helps in obtaining a healthy lifestyle. To accomplish this goal, I will come up with a personal workout routine, and I'll do it 3 times a week. By March 2026, I will have a consistent workout routine.

The third goal I want to achieve this year is to stop being so self-conscious. This goal is important to me because I want to break the habit of constantly thinking about others' perceptions of me. To accomplish this goal, I will practice positive self-talk and challenge my negative thoughts by accepting insecurities. By December 2026, I will be less in my head about things and be more confident.

The fourth goal I want to achieve this year is to learn how to cook healthier meals. This goal is important to me because I want to eat out less and instead make healthy meals at home. To accomplish this goal, I will do research on healthy recipes and turn to my mom to teach me some of her own healthy recipes. By October 2025, I will have learned many healthy recipes.

Summary: In class we wrote four goals we want to achieve this year in Writable.

Reflection: I learned that goals should be specific instead of vague.

4 goals:

learning how to cook more

read 20 books this year

stick to a workout routine

become more confidence
