Prompt: Your research question is designed to explore a complex issue. What makes this topic difficult to answer or solve? Identify at least two different perspectives or factors related to your topic and explain why understanding multiple viewpoints is important.

Prompt Response: My group's Research topic is the war on terrorism. Our research question is 'How effective have global counter-terrorism strategies been since 2001?' This topic is difficult to answer because it is highly political and subjective. Some people are here for terrorism and think it is beneficial. There are also other people who are against it and the harm it causes. Understanding both sides is important because it widens my view point on the topic.

Summary: In class we learned the 7 steps of the Research Database and came up with 10 search phrases with our group.

Reflection: I learned that strong search terms should be specific.
